ENGAGE: Opportunities to Hear from Candidates on Children and Youth Issues

Get the Facts Before You Vote

Ballots are currently being mailed to every registered DC voter. Now is the time to make sure you know who is running for office and where they stand on critical issues that affect children, youth, and families. The election this November will be the most important one of our lifetimes. Locally and nationally we have the opportunity to shape the way our government views and protects children and families--the future and backbone of our society. Exercise your right to lift up your voice and claim your power by voting!

Our 2020 Voter Guide Is Live!

Read candidates’ responses to DC Action’s questions about the most pressing challenges facing children, youth and families in our new DC Action Voter Guide.

DC Action invited all campaigning candidates for the at-large DC Council seat, the Ward 2 DC Council seat, and the at-large State Board of Education to answer questions for our Voter Guide. Responses that are included are the responses we received.

DC Action for Children is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. We are nonpartisan and do not endorse or support any candidate for office. Our voter guide is intended for informational purposes only.

Join us for Coffee with the Candidates

October 8
4:30pm to 6pm

Two dozen candidates are vying for one at-large seat on the DC Council this fall. Voters may cast two votes in this election. To help you decide which candidate will be the best advocate for the District’s children, youth and families, DC Action will hold Coffee with the Candidates on October 8 from 4:30pm-6pm via Zoom.

Confirmed participants include: Councilmember Robert White, Marcus Goodwin, Christina Henderson, and Ed Lazere.

DC Action invited the four candidates with the highest number of individual DC donors, based on publicly available filings, to participate. Please note that we did not invite every candidate and we are not holding similar forums for the Ward 2 Council race or the at-large State Board of Education race.
